Co Head Coach Update

Good Morning Tango Community

I am writing to advise that Club Co Head Coach, Scott Waddington, has made the very difficult decision to step down from his position with Tango Netball Club due to personal reasons.

Scott has been an amazing asset and advocate of the Tango Netball Club since he commenced as Head Coach in 2015. Scott has worked tirelessly to build our strength and capacity which culminated in our first finals appearance in 15 years in the 2019 season.

Scott’s coaching career has seen many achievements and highlights including:

  • Coaching his 200th Premier League game is 2019
  • Tango Junior 1 coach 1999 and 2000
  • Developing coaches by presenting numerous coaching courses including foundation and intermediate levels
  • Assisted Netball Australia to create the online coaches’ aids for coach accreditation
  • Guest specialist coach for U17 state team
  • Coaches mentor
  • Selector for Men’s/mixed state sides
  • Northern Territory Storm Australian Netball League Head Coach
  • State U19 Coach
  • Independent Coaches workshop presenter
  • Match analyst with Australian Diamonds coach Lisa Alexander for Thunderbirds game
  • Southern Force Assistant Coach

Scott has been instrumental in developing key regional relationships and player opportunities with the Country Versus City Cup which allows regional talent to be identified and developed.

Scott has built lasting friendships throughout his netball career and is very well respected by past and present players, coaches, club officials, Premier League participants/colleagues, State and National Netball communities.

We look forward to seeing Scott at games and around the club in the future and wish him loads of love, happiness and most importantly, free time to spend with his beautiful family and grandchildren (10 in 12 months)!

Thank you for your commitment and dedication Scott.
